Pool builder in Berry Hill and in-town Nashville

Berry Hill lots are small, the houses sit close to the street, and a lot of them have no side access at all. This is the hardest kind of yard to put a pool in and it is the kind we built the business around. If a pool company has told you your lot is too tight, that is usually a statement about their equipment, not about your yard.

No side access is the normal condition here

Between Berry Hill, Melrose and the 8th Avenue side of town, plenty of lots have a house that runs nearly fence to fence. There is no route for an excavator, no route for a concrete truck, and often no room to swing a gate open.

A precast set does not need a route. The crane works from the street, the shell goes up over the roof and down into the back yard in one pick. The only thing that has to be clear is the air.

Small yards, real water

An in-town back yard is often thirty by forty feet with a deck already taking part of it. A full-size pool there is not a pool, it is a yard you cannot use. A plunge pool is the whole point: deep enough to cool off in properly, warm soak in the winter, cold plunge in the summer, and the yard still works as a yard.

This is the pool that suits the way people actually live in town, and it is why the demand for them here has gone the way it has.

Streets, lines and permission

The real work on an in-town set is the hour before the pick. Street width, where the outriggers land, overhead power and comms lines, parked cars, and whether we need to hold the street for a short window.

We walk that out ahead of time so the day of the set is boring. A boring crane day is the goal.

Permits in Davidson County

Berry Hill and the surrounding in-town neighborhoods are inside Davidson County, so pool permits go through Metro Nashville. The permit covers the pool, the barrier and the electrical bonding, and there is an inspection at the end. We apply in our name and schedule it.

Which pool fits a Berry Hill yard

On an in-town lot the deciding factor is almost always the pick. Where the crane can make the reach with a concrete shell, the precast Plungie is the better pool. Where the street, the lines or the neighbors limit the machine, the Little Pool Co. fiberglass shell at under three thousand pounds is what makes the job possible, and it goes in-ground, part-buried or above grade.

The short version of the rule we use: fully in-ground, go concrete. Above grade, part-buried or a hard reach, go fiberglass. The crane is what decides it. A precast concrete Plungie weighs around twenty five thousand pounds and a Little Pool Co. fiberglass shell weighs under three thousand, and that difference is what determines whether a pool is possible on a given lot at a sane price.

How a Berry Hill pool actually goes in

We walk the lot and look at the street, the side path, the canopy and where the water goes in a storm. We tell you what the access allows before you pick anything. Then we design the pool, apply for the permit in our name, prepare the base and the plumbing and electrical, and book the crane. The set itself is a day. After that it is decking, equipment, fill and start-up.

You are swimming in weeks, not months, and there is no open hole sitting in your yard through a Tennessee summer waiting on a gunite crew.

Berry Hill pools, asked straight

I have no side access at all. Can I still get a pool?

Yes. No side access is the normal condition on an in-town lot and it is not a stop for a crane set. Nothing travels down the side of the house.

Can the pool fly over my house?

Yes, that is how most in-town sets are done. What we check is street width, overhead lines and the clear corridor above the set point.

Do you need to close the street?

Sometimes for a short window. We work that out with you and the neighbors in advance rather than on the day.

Is my yard too small?

Probably not. A plunge pool is sized for exactly this lot. Send photos of the yard and the street and we will tell you straight.

Do you work in 12South, Melrose and Woodbine?

Yes, all through the in-town neighborhoods. The tight ones are the work we are known for.
